Terms of Service

These Terms are an agreement between you and Nku App Services (Tsegazeab Hailu Tedla, Finland) governing the use of the Stories Book app. Stories Book is designed for children to use with the support of a parent, guardian or teacher. If you are a parent or guardian, you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and your child. By installing or using the app, you accept these Terms.

1. Who can use Stories Book. Children of all ages may use the app. An adult (a parent, guardian or teacher) is responsible for deciding whether the app is suitable for a child and for the settings in the Parent Zone.

2. What the app does. Stories Book offers illustrated short stories in several languages, with text and narration, side-by-side reading in two languages, and a way to mark each story as Not started, Started, Reading or Completed. The app works offline; no account is needed.

3. Stories, translations and narration. The stories are new retellings of traditional, public-domain tales. Translations are reviewed by native speakers over time, and some may still contain errors; please report mistakes through Support. Narration in most languages uses your device's own text-to-speech voice, so availability and quality depend on your device.

4. Your progress data. Reading status, favourites, stars and settings are stored only on your device. We cannot restore them if you delete the app, reset progress or change devices. See our Privacy Policy and Account & Data Deletion pages.

5. Advertising. The app is free and may be supported by non-personalised ads rated for general audiences, shown only on browsing screens and never during reading, listening or bedtime mode. We do not accept ads we consider unsuitable for children. If you see an ad you think is inappropriate, tell us through Support and we will work with the ad network to block it.

6. Intellectual property. The app, its design, story texts, translations, illustrations and audio are owned by Nku App Services or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for private, non-commercial purposes at home or in a classroom. You may not copy, republish, sell or redistribute the app's content, or use it to train machine-learning models, without our written permission. The underlying traditional tales remain in the public domain.

7. Acceptable use. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify or bypass the app's security or parental gate except where the law allows it, and do not use the app unlawfully.

8. App stores. If you downloaded Stories Book from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. If you downloaded it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

9. External links. Links to our website are placed behind a parental gate. We are not responsible for third-party websites, including those of advertisers.

10. Disclaimers and liability. The app is provided "as is". We work to keep the content accurate and age-appropriate, but we don't guarantee that the app will be error-free or always available. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for issues arising from use of the app is limited. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Ending use. You can stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may withdraw or change features, or suspend access for misuse.

12. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under EU law or the law of your country of residence.

13. Changes. We may update these Terms; material changes are shown in the app's Parent Zone.
