Subscription & Advertising Terms

These terms cover how the App is monetised. They form part of the Terms of Service. Where advertising or paid features are not present in a given version, the relevant section simply does not apply to that version.

1. Advertising

• v1 has no ads. We plan to introduce advertising later to help fund the App.
• When advertising is active, ads are served by third-party partners (e.g. Google AdMob / Ad Manager, Meta Audience Network). Those partners may use your device's advertising identifier and limited device/ad-interaction data as described in the Privacy Policy.
• Personalised ads require your consent and, on iOS, your permission via App Tracking Transparency; otherwise you receive non-personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
• We never share the profile details you enter (grades, nationality, test scores) with advertisers for targeting.
• Ads are labelled as advertising and are not endorsements. We are not responsible for the content or offers of third-party advertisers.

2. Free vs paid

• The core scholarship-discovery features are available free. Using the App does not require any purchase.
• We may introduce optional paid features or subscriptions (e.g. an ad-free tier or premium tools) in future. If we do, the following terms apply.

3. Subscriptions & in-app purchases (when offered)

• Billing: all purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) using your store account. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
• Price & terms are shown in the App before you buy, including the price, billing period, and what is included.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged on renewal.
• Manage & cancel: manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Free trials / introductory offers (if any): any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; contact them for refund requests. Statutory withdrawal/refund rights under EU consumer law are unaffected.
• Price changes: we may change prices; changes apply to future renewals and, where required, only after notice and (where required) your consent.

4. EU consumer rights

Nothing here removes mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under EU law or the law of your country of residence, including any right of withdrawal that applies to digital purchases.

5. Changes

We may update these terms as monetisation evolves (for example, when ads or subscriptions launch). Material changes are notified in the App and take effect for future use/purchases.
